Studio Miniatures Resin Zombies & Sci-fi
« on: December 01, 2011, 11:31:40 PM »
Hi folks

We have just updated our website to include some lovely colour pics of our 90mm resin German Zombies. These are resin copies of the 3ups used to make our 28mm plastic set earlier this year. The set includes both 90mm zombies plus a spare head, field cap and spare set of arms rrp £31.99

Also out this month is the re-release of the Atlantis Imperium 28mm sci-fi range. We recently bought the rights and moulds for this range and will be remoulding the range into squad sized sets. First out are the Goloth, a reptilian alien race that was never released first time round. These guys are big and tough with a thirst for battle and bloodshed.
The battle squad consists of 10 minis including Sgt, Comms Trooper and 2 support weapons rrp £24.99

Yes the aliens do look pretty good. Though why do they have heavy armour on their legs, yet walk arounf bare armed? My head struggles to get around that logic flaw.

They look like Chaps you can see a bit of flesh (a bit broke back mountain there or blue oyster club) I suppose you could rationalise it is to protect legs from undergrowth in hot climes?

Not to mention without helmets, for the most part... But maybe they have something in their legs that gets hurt really easily, or maybe the leg armour isn't armour after all.

Personally, not very fond. Nice sculpts, not very interesting aesthetic. The squad-based release plan however sound good - I wonder what other goodies Atlantis Imperium has in store?

Or maybe, in their culture, knees are the ultimate erogenous zone and must be kept covered at all times, provoking interesting reactions when they run into humans in shorts.

Or maybe their home planet is infested with ankle-biting critters that can't jump (which could be an in-game hazard for opposing forces).

Or maybe they evolved in an arboreal environment, and their legs aren't strong enough to carry their full weight (+1 when moving through forest or woods).

Or maybe it's just fashion (no in-game effect, unless they are fighting Gok Wan).

Back from the dead, almost.

hmmm, some good ideas.
As tnjrp said nice to see squad based releases. Too few companies make releases that make it possible to use them as a sizable force.

I love your reasoning Steve F. Sounds like the kind of ideas that float around my table. You must be a lot of fun to game with.
