It's not rivet counting at all.  Helmets have distinctive shapes.  Some are "iconic", as the kids say.  Many miniature manufacturers (in multiple scales) fail to get the helmets right, whether it's a British "battle bowler", a U.S. M1 steel pot, a French Adrian, a Soviet SSh-39 or SSh-40, or the various German Stahlhelme.  It's the rare company that nails it, actually.  At least these do not have the caricaturish, cartoonish faces and poses of some!

I have to agree with Allen on these points.

I do like the poses and good luck on the new line.

The soldiers look great to me but I can see that the "peak" isn't quite at the same sharp angle as in the pictures V posted, slight inaccuracies are an unfortunate minefield of historical mini making.

The 20s gangsters are brilliant , hopefully it will become a very strong range.

Thanks for the comments!  A bit of healthy criticism is good and educational!
Just to clarify- Gorgon is distributing these and are good friends of mine, but I wouldn't blame them for any inaccuracies in our line.

And these are the first for us- and we are learning.

These have had a series of mastering issues which I needn't share- but I will see what can be done to increase the peak and sharpness on the helmet for the future.

I have wanted a 28mm line of 10th Mechanized for a very long time- so figured if I want to game with some so time to try and do it my self. 
Hopefully we are luckier on Gebirgsjager-

Glad you like the Cop.  The 1920s range is a joint venture between BL and Gorgon.  BL was just the first one to get an ad out!

This first release has 4 Gangsters and 4 Cops. I hope to have the Cops painted in the coming week or so and then they can get up on the Gorgon Store.

The Poles are currently at 5 poses in a resin release.  Metal will follow as the rest are mastered into a 24 model '1st Wave' kind of thing.

The Gebirgsjager are currently 4 poses in resin, with the metal release to follow very shortly.

The helmet of any WW2 model is the most obvious and characteristic part. This is doubly true when its such a unique and iconic units as in this case.

Its often the most difficult part to get right.

I personally, and your mileage may vary, want my figures to look like what they are suppossed to be...

Would you buy a set of rules that listed the tanks with the wrong names? Of course you wouldnt.

Nostromo, and whoever his sculpter is if not him, clearly have bags of talent. If they could fix the peak on that M16 they would have a very nice set of figures for a very iconic unit.

Welcome to the world of miniatures, they look great!! What other lines are you fleshing out? May I suggest that a Col. Hubal figure would be a cool miniature to offer? It would certainly find a home in my collection. Yeah, that's the ticket, please disrupt your entire production plan to accommodate my request!

Helmets look fine to me, but then Im interested in wargaming rather than picking small holes in things.

It's quite possible to both enjoy wargaming and expect high standards of accuracy in historical figures.

If one's "WWII" gaming vision incorporates things like Panzers on legs, then these may be acceptable models for the Black Brigade:



(Actually, their helmet flares are closer...)   

But if one relies on actual history rather than fabricated codices, then attention to detail may be important.  It by no means affects one's ability to play or enjoy playing.
