Dark Ages Monk in 28mm - source?
« on: 16 December 2011, 08:56:08 AM »
The title says it all. I would like a 28mm figure of a monk, preferably middle Anglo-Saxon, but all suggestions welcome.

Is this a goer or am I looking at building my own?
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

There are one or two scattered in their medieval civilian packs: Perry sculpts.  Foundry also once had a pack of Vikings raiding a monastery that included a couple of monks, but I'm not sure if it's available now.

There are also some monks in Perry Miniatures' First Crusade range, and some in Black Tree Design's Second Crusade range.

Most of these, except the Gripping Beast and Musketeer (and Foundry Viking) ones, are a little later than your target period, Mitch K.  There are some earlier Christian priests in West Wind's Arthurian range.
Back from the dead, almost.

Cheers all!

I think the Musketeer fellows are the winner - I've got no use for more than one!

I might have a go myself anyway though...
