Don't give him a beret.   You go through all the trouble of that great work to make him look like a rough and tough survivor, putting a useless hat on his head takes away from that.   A beret does not keep your head/ears warm, does not keep sun or rain out of your face...   They are useless, ask anyone who has had to wear one.

This guy needs functional head gear.  The wool watch cap or baseball cap are both better ideas than a beret.  I wold also consider a boonie type hat.

Jake (who has worn a beret...)

At least they look cool, I had to wear a "Dixie Cup"  lol :'(

Thanks for the suggestions. I think if I was giving him glasses they'd be Jack Duckworth style with the sellotape holding them together! Earflaps on the wooly hat could look good, will try them out. Done a bit of work on the rucksack, straps done, baseball bat in place.

Not a good way to carry a bat.  If you had to run you risk losing it and all your other stuff.  Of course that would be after it knocked you in the head repeatedly.

The ruck needs a top flap to close it/keep rain and dirt out.   The bat could then ride under or even on top of that flap (the straps holding the flap hod the bat) parallel to the shoulders.  He could still reach back across a shoulder and grab it, and it wouldn't knock him silly if he had to run.
Every time a bad person dies, a Paratrooper gets his wings.

Looking great, though Cpt Jake makes a good point about the bat.

Sounds about right, if that is Frank Gallagher.

I really like this conversion, well done! It would be more use to me than the original figure.  :)

I have to come down on the 'no beret' side of the fence too, they're completely useless. Woolie hat (1st choice), baseball cap (stops his hood dropping over his eyes when in use) or no hat at all, would fit in with the temperate 'open coat' climate he exists in.

Went with wooly hat and finished off the rucksack.  Just need to fix the rifle in place and sort a base out.

Fantastic sculpting.

I still think the bat will knock him silly, but darned cool figure anyway.  I would buy one.

Yep, you should ask Hasslefree to cast your conversion as a variant of the original figure 8)
