Sculpting Bricks! =)
« on: 29 December 2011, 01:31:08 PM »
Hi everyone!
A new article has been released today on The Lazy Forger!

Sculpting Bricks with Eulithe, read it here!!

Basically, eulithe is an extruded foam, but with no elastic properties at all, so working with that is quite different than working with a usual foam board. Actually, it is totally different.

Hope you like it!

Cheers
Jack

Nice article!

So the fragility of the material isn't that much a problem, because it is used for mould making? Am I right? The effect looks very realistic and cool! I'll give that a try I think ;)

Thanks for this article!

Excellent article on what looks like a fascinating material. Likewise I'm interested in hearing more about using this for making moulds from. Are .abbiati the only suppliers for this do you think? I'd like to find a UK one really.

Thanks guys! I'm not shure about the reperibility of the Eulithe in UK, but i'm shure that the only one in Italy is abbiati, and the material is actually not meant for wargaming purposes.

@phil, on the article there are some pictures about some moulds i did. I used a very poor and cheap silicon, for it was an experiment, but it has quite some nice properties, and for a brick wall it is a very good choice!

You can see other works i did on this other article:

Eulithe is a urethane foam - you can likely find it under different names in other countries outside of Italy.

In the US, it is similiar to RenShape.

http://www.freemansupply.com/RenShapeModelingan.htm (misplaced my link to the manufacturer...but that will get you going).

Polyisocyanurate foam has similiar properties as well and is found in most building stores (it is generally the foil faced foam).
