Bricks and Roads [29/1 STONE ROAD!!!]
« on: 24 January 2013, 10:32:27 PM »
Hi everyone!
In the last days, while preparing an exam, i worked on the new version of my brick wall (you can see a version here - painted version on page 2) and on a road. Both of themm will be used for various purpose in my future projects, mainly in WWII and some post apocalyptic settings.

both of them will be, as always, moulded then casted in resin or plaster. I'll think if either selling them or not. :)

cheers

Jack

The wall especially looks amazing... But the bricklayer who built it must have been terrible - Just look at those joints! ;)

ahah, true! But i think that it will give the best result, even if not completely realistic! :D

Don't worry Remgain, you'll have it for your projects! ^_^

Actually, Eulithe.
You can find a review on my site here:

http://www.thelazyforger.com/tutorials/sculpting-bricks-with-eulithe/

it is possible to buy from Abbiati Wargames, even though not at this density... a little lighter!

Anyway: a bigger paved road built. For the roads i'll put it diagonally, but i'm gonna use it also for the base of the fantasy buildings, only 2 rows of bricks before the plastered part.

Here's the first cast of the brick wall and another similar wall sculpted in the previous days:

and here is the painted version of the first one:

I painted it with acrylics, then oils then pigments. Hope you like.

Cheers

I'm planning a small section of an harbour, with buildings, docks, etc.

my problem on selling is that casting is quite a long job. So to make it productive i should sell the panels at something like 3 euros each, wich is quite a lot.

An option might be selling moulds, but to make IT productive they could cost ... well, what's your idea of a fair price, Thunderckicken and Remgain? Selling the mould - no commercial rights, but as many as you like for you!

just say a price that you all can think reasonable. in my mind there's a 20-25 euros, which is not cheap but fair, considering the hours i need to make a good mould! =(

By the way, here's some progresses. I've to say that this piece is much less interesting than the bricks to paint, i definitely have to re-sculpt it in ceramic instead of eulithe in the future.

3 euros per panel doesn't sound much at all. Nor 20-25 euros for a mould piece either, IMHO.
