WW1 Fantasy - New Figures
« on: 30 December 2011, 02:17:53 PM »
Apologies for the doublepost on here, and the Fantasy board, but not sure which board (or both) it is suitable for, given its both Fantasy, and decidely Weird World War One....

 :D

First up, i've commissioned a bunch of new figures - WW1 Russian-themed Dwarves, sculpted by Bob Olley. I aim to produce a well-rounded force eventually - the first bunch made consists of a 10 man (sorry, Dwarf) Rifle Squad, and the second bunch of 5 Specialists.  Future figures will include Dwarf Cossack Cavalry, and some support units.

They are slightly smaller than Bob's Scrunts, and are approx 20mm to the eye.  The reason being, that they are designed to fit in with Hasslefree's Kindred (WW1 British-themed Halflings), and Goblin Garrisons German-themed Goblins.

I've set up a webpage to showcase the figures - please note that this is strictly a hobby for me, not a commercial venture - i'm not looking to make a profit, and all proceeds will be put back in, to make more figures.  If you'd like to get hold of some of them, email me on akulasarmies@hotmail.co.uk - include your full name, address, paypal address, and what you are after.

Secondly, the figures are designed to support the game i'm running at Salute 2012 - a WW1 Fantasy Trench game.

If you'd like to see the WIP, click on the icon below.

Not my particular cup of tea (call me when you get some Elves  ;) ) but nonetheless impressive...! The three variant lines/races seem to match very well.

Thanks Akula. I think these would work well with the Brigade Games Gnomes.

Good luck with this adventure.

Cheers,

Helen

Just tried a wash on one of the furry hatted ones i've got sitting on my desk, and it worked a treat, picking out all the detail.

Very well done all.

Rubbish photo...

I don't get the joke- that's a great pic of very nice painting, on wonderful miniatures!

Not a joke - I'm not at home at the moment so don't have my usual photo set-up and am definitely having to blag it to get even half-decent pictures.... figures are too dark, not properly lit and slightly out of focus  :-I

Will try again if I ever get some daylight

Very nice Matt, not my thing at all but can't fault Bob's sculpting there and Dag's WIP shots look great. Good luck with the venture.

P.S. Frother's account not allowing me to change password so I've not been in my profile there for ages, hope the salute plans are going well. There might me a goblin red baron biplane kicking around if I get chance to do it for April so make sure there's space amongst the kangaroos! ;)
