Thanks Alex - from one meglomanic to another.

 lol

I know budenovka's sound a bit mad, but I wanted a way to provide another force for my existing dwarves to fight, and a simple headswop seemed like a logical move.  Eventually I hope to make an Ottoman Turk Undead Army to fight them (with a decaying empire vibe) but the head sprue, plus "Lenny" is a quick win.

Thanks for the headsup - no idea why it was autocorrecting, when it was spelt correctly.  have retyped it, and saved, and it seems to work fine now.

Maybe I'll be able to push you over the edge later on - I know what a fan you are of the Quar, so it would be great to see you pitching them against each other.

I just ordered a bunch of them specifically for that reason... a game of SOA with two different races to show off the rules while simultaneously removing the argument that sci-fi type games need different species to be enjoyable.

That, and they're darn fine minis too.

The Arms Race Continues!

These will be off to Griffin for casting very shortly, and with luck i might have some in time for Salute.

First up, the Dwarven Cossacks:

There will be a bunch of 5 of them together (my own cavalry units will probably be 10 figures strong) - as with the infantry the heads are interchangeable - in the case of the cavalry, there will be different arm options, with a selection of swords, lance, rifles, a pistol, and even a bugle option.

I'll also have a separate "Senior Command" - these two from the photo above.

The Cossack Dwarf General has got a top knot, but you could alway trim this off, if you want him to be bald.

Bob has also made the first of the support weapons - a HMG team:

Needless to say, I'll confirm when I've got some spare castings of these, for anyone that is interested.

I'm interested, and well done! I love the option to vary the cavalry a bit- I like units of twelve.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Cheers - if you like units of 12 you could get 2 of the 5 figure bunch, and add the 2 figure command....

....of course you could always buy a dozen of the 5 figure set, and field 5 units of 12 figures each.... :D

In addition to the extra weapon options, the heads are separate as well, as with the infantry, so you can mix in some peaked caps etc.

I also hope to have some of the budenovka heads cast up shortly, so I can start working on my "evil" Red Faction of Dwarves.

Griffin have confirmed they've made the moulds, so once i've got a figure for the casting costs, I'll be able to work out what price I can make these available at (as I mentioned before, this is just a personal project, not a business venture, so the aim is to not lose money on them rather than make a profit).

 :)
