Jungle Rumble - A KGP Playtest
« on: January 03, 2012, 08:10:21 PM »
Last Sunday we played a 500 point 'Hold the Line' scenario using my generic Kampfgruppe Pacific lists. The Japanese were defending with the USMC attacking down the length of the table.

It was a very close run battle with first the Japanese getting the upper hand as the USMC attacked piecemeal. Then the USMC got organised and fought back as a chorent force and they gained the upper hand, only to suffer a Japanese counter-attack that almost over-ran the USMC BGHQ! With that defeated the USMC once more took the offensive untill a rash move over extended them and they suffered horrific losses at the hands of Japanese artillery fire. However the USMC managed to pull it out of the bag and their final attack caused the Japanese to withdraw.

The game ended with the Japanese on their morale value of 39 and the USMC with only 2 morale points left... The Japanese tank force was virtually wiped-out and heavy losses sustained among their infantry. The USMC force was in just as bad shape having taken losses among both their tanks and their marine platoon.

The lists seemed to work well and it certainly felt like a Pacific encounter to me observing the game.

All is 20mm... Is there any other scale for WW2?  ;)

M5s are Britannia and the figures are a mix of Battlefield, Britannia, SGMM, Arsenal, Fantassin and a few others.
