Trash Bash 2012 Bit of Junk Ideas?

I'll be running the kit-bashing contest Trash Bash again this year. I'll be running it through February to hopefully dodge the Lead Painter's League (which I think is in March?).

First order of business is to decide what bit of junk will be the basis for the contest build. TB 2011 used a discarded deodorant container in honor of Rick Preistley's classic hover tank build. This time we need something new.

Please respond to this post with your ideas for a single piece of junk that can be used for kit-bash modeling. Try to think of things that are pretty easy to get worldwide and are something that is normally discarded. I'll post a poll in a week or so to determine what the subject of Trash Bash 2012 will be.

The easiest thing to procure and probably the thing that would hold most scope for building stuff would be cereal boxes.

There's also plastic jugs (as for peanut butter, pickles, sauces, etc.). Those are pretty universal, though they're kind of bland in shape (tubby cylinder).

Here are some ideas that sprung to mind in the empty last hour of a very quiet workday:

- Pringles tubes
- Computer Mouses
- Plastic (meat?) trays
- Plastic Bottles (as mentioned; 1/2L soda bottles, shampoo, or medicine/yakult/vitamins ones)
- Toothpaste tubes
- Blister packaging
- Plastic flower pots
- Egg cartons
- Christmas tree decorations
- Old electronics components
- Smint (or similar) boxes
- CD Jewelcases
- Toilet rolls
- Sardine tins
- Inkjet Cartidges
- Plastic cookie trays (inside packaging)

And there's more where that came from!

How about the all mighty noodle cup building? It's not genre specific (you can build either sci-fi or fantasy buildings with one). It's cheap as chips... or well, noodles. Also fits the theme with building on the cheap, as noodles are the king of cheap food. =)

I think a computer mouse is a bit limited and too close to the prior year's main component. A pot noodle cup would allow plenty of artistic freedom while still giving a pretty standardized starting point. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

And no, I never eat pot noodles so I have no cups available. =) I do hold shares in a large noodle manufacturer though...
