That has turned out well  8)

Just a couple of small things. Are the stacks a bit bent and would it be an idea in the future to do the hull as an RP and then scratch the detail before casting?

(paint job looks a treat  :) )

cheers

Thanks guys!

Well, you both are right, i will use a dark blue instead of dark red for the next bottoms. Actually, this is a REAL floating line, since those ships usually lay on the ocean when turned off (and it happens quite frequently, since they are not always in war! =)

I just wanted to see a nice look. some of my friends insisted for a kaki camouflage also, which is totally unrealistic, but it should look quite cool! ;)

But i think i'll keep this scheme, with a dark blue floating line instead of the dark red! =)

what do you mean exactely? Sorry for my bad english, but i couldn't understand what you say. :)

Don't apologise  :)

The stacks are the smoke funnels (two of them on your ship) and they seem a little distorted. The other comment was to get the main hull rapid-prototyped (what you have done for the whole thing) but then scratch build the details yourself after you get it back from Shapeways and then cast them up.

If you need it a bit clearer then just ask  :)

cheers

ahh ok!

I mixed the two things together, and i didn't get the point! ;)

1) yeah, the barrels are a little bent, because i extracted the piece from the mould befor the right time (i was VERY curious!), but usually it doesn't have suche a problems.

2) At the moment i'm sculpting scenery for Wreck Age, making fantasy stuff for myself, and i've also to scratchbuild a gaming table for NEF. so i decided to keep this sculpting project as much 3D oriented as possible. :) Actually, i've added some little details, and i want to customize all the ships (i've already prepared a flamethrower, i'll paint when back!) to make them unique. Nonetheless, the use of a RP is quite a FAST way for making the pieces. Next order will be mainly composed by alternative decks, new weapons, and tons of buildings! =)

great work Jack! That tiny little ship is delicious  :-*
And you add the name  lol
Only criticism could be that the floating line should be grey IMO.

hum, i just wanted the red to add a little contrast. I'll show you today or tomorrow in flesh, and we'll discuss a bit.

Of course, those ships when not fightin are used to float on the sea, so a floating line is accetable. and for a slow, smoky and fattish flying thing is not necessary to camouflage, after all it would be perfectly visible anyway! :)

But maybe another floating line colour should be great as well... i've to choose between blue, green or dark grey! =)

hehe, you challenged me! ;)

just a question: do you know the best site for ordering revell 1:1200 models to Italy?

I wanted to make a HUGE shipwreck on a piece of scenery... :)

Actually, also non-revell is fine. i just wanted some plastic cheap kit, cuz the metal-resin casted are way too expensive for a shipwreck!

Beautiful ship! My only comment is that the Royal (Aero)Navy would never permit such a ragged paint-line on their vessels! Sure, they're fighting a harsh environment, but chipping and re-painting is constant. (You have to keep the deck crew busy somehow - "Idle hands are the Devil's playthings" and all that!)
from Mr.Vampire: "It's the paintjob that makes the miniature fight harder not the size."

Thanks Guys!

Well, that's right about the damages of the floating line. But well, it is much more cool this way! ;)

Anyway: we've started a wiki for the game. it is in italian, but it should be google-translated, though. it is still wip, but the rules for the campaign are basically done!

http://aeronavum.wikispaces.com/I+Pirati+della+Malesia
http://aeronavum.wikispaces.com/Guerra+di+Java that is the scenery we're gonna play

on this map:

if you have the patience of reading the translation, i would really appreciate any comment!

cheers,
Jack

Hi

Those Aeroneffs look good. What materials did you print in from Shapeways?

Ok, a little teaser of the tabletop:

still a loooong way to go. the trees seem few, but making them is a hard work, because they are so many! ^^
