Hmm, yes, it seems the actual premier is indeed way ahead of the general release date I mentioned earlier... To be specific, it's in less than two weeks from now.

I wouldn't have thought this would have gone over well in Berlin at all, but hey, what do I know ;)

Well, maybe the Iron Sky team took a cue from Laibach's performance of Mars on River Drina in Sarajevo and took their movie straight into the lion's den :P

I think they both limited and dated themselves by having a faux Sara Palin as the US President. They would have been better off having one more like the one done in "Monsters vs Aliens," which was a a comedic doofus archetype, but not visibly associated with a real person. Oh well.

There was a book I read many years back called 'Genesis' if my memory serves me well (and it often doesn't!) which was based on the premise that the Nazis went to Antartica and developed the flying saucers and other technology there. A great read and a last section at the end explianing what he had based things on. I lent it out a long time ago and never got it back....searching for a book titled 'Genesis' is not an easy task! If it rings a bell with anyone please let me know as I would dearly love to read it again.

Been there, seen it. This blog post from a friend of mine (and a die-hard scifi fandom geek) is rather close to what I thought myself, although I was bothered a bit more about the plot holes and logical tumbles:

All the same, I think Energia did manage to make a much better movie than I initially expected some years ago. It should be worth the admission free to anyone starved for inspiration on WWWII stuff or steampunkish "robust technology". In space - no ground battles and just one or two brief nazi infantry scenes.

Hey, we can accept that Nazis somehow managed to fly to the Moon and survive there for over half a century with weird futuristic technology, but we can't accept that Sarah Palin could somehow make a comeback and be elected to any public office more weighty than "Little League chauffeur mom"?

You have to open yourself up to extreme possibilities, Scully!

I could say something about what I think of the IS president's (who's name, I still maintain, is never mentioned despite some contrary claims) performance in comparison to what I think Mrs. Palin might do but I don't like to wax political :P
