New Year's Resolution fails at the first hurdle
« on: 10 January 2012, 10:02:30 AM »
Sooooooo..... Listen weary traveller to my tale of woe and heed the lessons of the weak-willed......  :'(

First club meet of 2012 and invited to a Cold War Commander game that most of the club have armies for, except me.  (See where this is going already?)

Thinking that maybe it was time that I had some toys of my own I asked what was available and armies that others did not have.  Back in a shot came the answer of Americans, closely followed by the offer of a spare unpainted American Gulf War army for sale, cheap.

So, less than 36 hours later, I have added to my lead pile.  :o

I'vebought a few reference books, but so far I've been strong on the lead front... then again, how long this is going to last I'm not sure as the LAM post apoc miniatures are calling to me!

Well, it had to be done and, at least, I know that will be fielded a few times, unlike some of my painted lead...........  ;)

It was 33 vehicles and 3 packs of figures, so pretty complete.......  :D

Now, just need some planes and choppers.  :o

By the way, my forces were totalled last night......  :'(

I have remained strong and am faithful to my resolution. I have to stay up late just to finish a rather wonderful sparkling shiraz rather than than let it go off in the fridge.

Well, they are 1/144 Panzer Korps plastics, largely made up, so slightly bigger than 1/300, so they do count.  o_o

2.7% of the year has already passed, so you didn't yield immediately.
Back from the dead, almost.

I have not yet purchased any minis this year, as I am still painting down my lump of "gotta purchase this before the end of the year so my lead painters vow looks better for 2012" at the end of 2011.

Well, if that is a criteria, bids on my EBay stuff are greater than the price that I paid............... :D
