Yes, that was rather a lovely range that Steve Saleh was producing before the great Foundry Exodus.

The new stuff is a good deal clunkier, but I can see a use for the Greek and Trojan hero packs when I get to Doctor Who's 3rd series story "The Myth Makers" - the mix of archaic and classical seems to fit well with the surviving photos from that story.

Does anyone know who the new sculptor is?  Whoever, judging by the Amazons, he needs to get in more practice at sculpting women.  And isn't it a little odd that the peltasts have been given longer spears than the hoplites?  Easily changed, I suppose, but the poses don't seem to suit javelins.
Back from the dead, almost.

well, some of the new figures look odd, Aphrodite like a bodybuilder :) Though I'm glad they make the range, some useful things there, will be getting one pack or two.

That are quite poor sculpts I think when compared to some up to date ones. I really love to get all these characters, but only in really nice sculpt...

It might be an impetus to get other manufacturers on the band waggon as seems to happen when new ranges come out  ;)

Agreed. I love the concept behind the minis, but the execution is mixed. The Aphrodite really stood out for me as a poor figure. She dosn't have any resembleance to the goddess of love that I've always imagined. I've been looking for pictures of the old Chiltern Gods and Godesses. Another compancy took them over but don't have the pictures posted.

The chiltern ones were rather crude too, like the rest of their stuff.

A dedicated FRPG in the mythos is about the most likely arena I would play in for that cost per figure!

It would take a real strong group to entice me into another era/genre using 25 plus mm figures anymore.

Gracias,

Glenn

The new ones are so poor I am going to wait until they are available in "FoundryResin" so I can pay even more over the top for them ;D ;D

Well, for how many time, the range 'll be continued.....2 months, 6 months, one year ?  ???

Now with foundry, you aren't sure to see something for a long time. Especially with a so bad sculpting at a so high price.  o_o
See this topic here for more info about the silly business at the Foundry :

Will wait when Dave Thomas will get them at bargain prices  lol

The rules are distinctly average, the background is sparse, the figures are poor, the painting is poor to average, the terrain making is poor, there is a lot of padding with over sized photos and unconnected adverts for other Foundry products (8 pages of ads at the back). I was very disappointed, there was nothing there that I wanted and absolutely nothing to inspire. There is nothing that makes it feel like a heroic or mythical Greek setting, no feel for the subject matter or the myths themselves, no understanding of the culture or the people or anything except a nod to heroes being sidetracked by wine and nymphs.
In fact, considering it now, it's absolute garbage.
