Digging out the old stuff
« on: February 05, 2012, 08:08:57 PM »
After being inspired by loads of WWII stuff I decided to dig out some of my old 20mm stuff.
This stuff hasn't seen the light of day for about 5 years at least. Alot of it is not painted very well or at all in some cases  ::)
This is just a couple of my boxes and some shelfs of vehicles.
Late war German stuff first up.

One armoured Panzer grenadier battalion and one lorried battalion

Some armour.

I have some more but painted even worse not by me though.

This is one of the units nearly painted, just to a wargames standard though.

A couple of scratch built recovery vehicles

Now on to some other boxes

Nice collection. Wash off the dust and apply some washes and they're ready to go. (Well most of them)

Wow. Seeing stuff like this really makes me want to try out some scales smaller than 28-30 MM.

With the camo patterns and foundation paints you have on those, s little washing and you'll be good to go!

It looks more than that on the shelves!!

It might be good to try some of those weathering powders and stuff now?

Btw, the wee pirate house is looking good in the background there!

More picture to follow plus I left out some unpainted stuff that is also on the shelf.
Also it is only one the shelf
The second one is full of this

Some other stuff. Just left them in their boxes as a lot aren't painted.

British Lorried Battalion

Missing some trucks that are shared by my early war british

British motor Battalion

Missing some half tracks that are shared by US armoured infantry battalion.
Which by my standard has a lot of painted stuff. Short one company still to be painted.

Other boxes contain a couple of British para battalions

A couple of US para Battalions

A load of fallschirmjägers

A few Russians

Plus their armour

I haven't found them yet but I have a load of early war German vehicles some where.

I also have a load of unbuilt or unpainted kits and models. That one day I may get round to doing something with.

Lots of interesting stuff.
I face some what the same problem with my F&IW stuff.
Much of it is around 20 years old.
Just go ahead and touch them up. Play with them and enjoy it.

I have a similar collection in my games room from the late eighties, one day I will repaint it all to current standards. I also had an even older collection from the late 60's/early 70s but had to give it away when we emigrated.
