Thanks everyone. You are too kind. Mike is my hero. He's engineered some amazing stuff for Shapeways and I've only finished painting a small portion of it. Just wait till you see... Oh, why spoil the surprise.

Superb - I love seeing things like this (somebody likes Serenity and thinks, I can build that...and does!).
Beautufully painted too.

but you do realize that the original Serenity Mule was based on a Triumph Spitfire convertible!

I thought it was a 4 wheeler ATV?

I have seen some scratchbuilts from Mr. P way back when and still have em somewhere around here. I for one wouldn't be surprised at all. :-)

It was. Maybe he's talking about a preproduction concept?

Great looking model! Which material did you have it printed in?

History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.

The mule was printed in White Strong and Flexible. I ended up giving it a coat of Testor's Light Earth spray, followed by two coats of Army painter Deamonic Yellow primer. The Army Painter didn't cover very well, but all those layers of spray paint filled in the pebbly surface nicely. Actually this model came out pretty smooth. There are some serious variations of how smooth these Shapeways models come out.

Great model and as already stated a fantastic paint job, but you do realise that the original Serenity Mule was based on a Triumph Spitfire convertible!

It might just be my technological semi-literatness, but i can not find the mule on that site, just Napoleonic Russian scenery and such.

I talked with Mike of Arctic Skunk tonight. He says he plans to order a mule for himself, just to be sure it's printing correctly. Then he'll be listing it for sale shortly after that.
