'Foss style'? Is that the artist Chris Foss? I've just realised (without knowing it before) he was one of my favourite artists!! I got a book full of his drawings when I was about ten called 'Spaceship 2000'. Amazing artwork! Are you thinking a colourful style?

That's the one  :D Red and yellow would be great!

cheers

James

You didn't actually eat anything from that container did you? It looks...challenging.

Here's what you have to do:

1)Sit down at your desk

2)Write a nice letter to some one in the creative industry detailing your excessive conceptual creativity

3)Get a job where you put your talent to work!

lol

Amazing as always!

If you know anybody looking for somebody let me know, I'd give up my electricians job in a heartbeat!! :D

Still just showing some WIP to keep me motivated. I've started adding detail. I've used various bits of tubing, plastic card, plastic sprue and a couple of wee bits I had left over from  a GW Rhino and 1:32 supplies model kit....

.....and a camera made from the spare bits from a Rhino kit...

I've still got a lot to add so as there's not much in the way of flat surfaces visible and then finish the legs and paint it!! Again....no pressure!!!! :( :'(

Cheers guys!!

Say, what's that mesh you're using Andy?

I'm afraid it's something I found on a building site that someone was throwing out. Depending on how much you need I may be able to post you some, but I don't have much left!

Well I've got a bundle done and the builds pretty much finished, but I'm afraid I can't show it until the competition is finished! :'(

Roll on 1st of March!!

Good luck to everybody involved!!

Not to worry... it's not needed right now, I was just wondering about the source. That site Roebeast linked seems to be an acceptable substitute.

Yea!!! I managed to come second!! :D Well congratulations to the other guys in the competition! Diegos Landing Craft was a well deserved win. Really great use of the trash bits he chose!!! Brill!! The observatory that came third was good too!! Lovely piece!!

This was mine. The Spy-DAR....

And this is what it looks like painted up. I decided to go for a kinda snowy camo colour because of the terrain I had in my wee flat. I'm gutted the cockpit couldn't be seen in the photos, it's just too dark!! There's radar screens, maps, readouts and even joysticks on the leather bound chair! :(

And this is the wee spiel I had to go with it...

'The vehicle is called 'Spy-D.A.R.'. This 28mm scale model is the unarmed scout version of the DAR(Delta-legged All-terrain Rover). The Spy-DAR is supposed to be able to reach the parts other vehicles just can't reach. Using the four telescopic legs and independently driven tracked bogies the rover can descend down small gullies and easily over rocky, dangerous terrain to achieve the optimal vantage point. The telescopic pole-mounted camera allows the Spy-DAR remain behind cover and stay concealed. The large air intakes allows the vehicle to reach extreme heights and still operate at a high output. With additional high gain radio and satellite communication equipment the Spy-DAR is the ultimate scout vehicle!'

Thanks again to Roebeasts for hosting this and letting me enter his comp and thanks to the judges for their nice comments!

The paint job takes this from a nice piece to the next step, very nice.  Roebeast must be happy to have had such great entries.
