Apologies for the radio silence; work had me out of the country for a spell and then the jet lag hit me like a ton o' bricks...
Anyhow; the floor was really easy. I first undercoated the whole thing black. Then, I basecoated with a mix of Vallejo equivalents to Snakebite Leather and Dark Flesh. On top of that came a (slightly diluted with water) wash of Vallejo Dipping Formula (or Wash, depending on which label on the pot you go by), Sepia Shade.
And then for the 'secret' bit; I let this wash dry, but before it was completey dry (and it still was a bit sticky), I brushed it out in the direction of the floor boards. This gives a nice, uneven, striped effect, akin to woodgrain.
I repeated this process at least four or five times, and finally gave some boards a very diluted wash, but with a very tiny drop of black in there, to give them just a slightly different shade. Also, I used this black wash to extra darken the areas where the floorboards were uneven and came apart.
A very, very light drybrush of the original basecoat was then put on the entire floor, to highlight the edges of the boards. But very, very light mind you.
For the scuff marks, I simply drybrushed some bleached bone/snakebite leather mix onto the affected areas.
So, basically, that's it. Hope that helps...
