Knights Templars
« on: 20 February 2012, 07:15:11 PM »
Just putting the finishing touches to these, (Bases, final highlights etc) however they are pretty much finished, I am pleased with the results, so wanted to post them up here. They are destined to see action in my forthcoming Robin Hood/Ivanhoe/medieval skirmish project. :)

Just noticed a couple are out of focus, bugger, sorry about that, but you get the general idea. ::)

Gripping beast figures with LBM shield transfers. The crosses on the tabards are freehand though, fun tp paint, but some of the detail is hit and miss on these figures.

Those are real nice, Nick!  :-*

Wish I had those kinda shield transfers when I was so into Ancients and Medieval stuff. Makes such a huge difference.

Your freehand crosses came out a treat!

Crisp crosses and bright white, love 'em  :)
Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.

Very nice Nicholas. Looking forward to the whole collection. Presumably the Templars are going to be baddies in your Robin Hood universe?
Sir Roderick Front de Bouef etc... Wasn't he the villainous Templar in the Flynn / Rathbone version, or am i getting onfused with Ivanhoe?  ::)

Lovely work - these will look cracking on the table  :D

The sword on the left handed one looks a but odd - the hilt seems made for a long sword, but then there's a short blade stuck on the end.

I'd be tempted to remove the tilt from below the hand and reattach the pommel for a more typical late twelfth, early thirteenth century sword.  :)

Reginald Front De Bouef is from Ivanhoe along with his friends, Brian de Bois Guilbert and Maurice De Bracy. In my Robin Hood world the Templars are on the side of good king Richard the Lionheart... Of course its pure Hollywood, so anything can happen. :) ;)
