Nicely done. Is this one of their new plastics, or the old white metal casting?

Plastic. I didn't realise there had been earlier metal versions of these. I preferred the old metal warjacks to the newer plastics.

When I started everything in warmachine was metal. I'm going to go and feel old now.

All of my Men-of War figures are metal. I tend to prefer the metal figures as well, though the plastics are easier to handle while you paint them. These look good, though. Especially with your paint job on them.

Cheers mate  :D

The red was fairly straight forward. Base coat of GW Foundation Mechrite Red highlighted with VGC Bloody Red and a little VGC Orange Fire added for the final sharp highlights on the edges. I also brushed GW Devlan Mud into the seams and recesses and around rivets.

To be honest this piece took way too long to do considering it was a commission and I was therefore painting against the clock. I was just being a bit slow and cautious because I wasn't too familiar with the model and I wanted to make sure the end result was good enough. If I was to do another I'd get through it in much better time, probably several hours.

Thanks again for the comments folks.  :)

Thanks Stone Cold, I was curious because there was some very dramatic yet subtle shading that looked very time consuming.

Personally, the longer I spend on a miniature the worse it seems to look.  lol

Great paintjob.  I've been interested in these plastics, but have no desire to buy an entire box of them.  I wonder if anyone in the US would be interested in sharing a box of them?  I would want two.  If interested, please shoot me a PM.

Thanks MUCHO for the tutorial. Your results speak well for your methods; the depth of color you achieve is spectacular. VERY WELL DONE!

Great tutorial, Stonie :)
I'm to lazy to start with the metal colours as it means that the impurities forces me to get new water ;) But I'll try you method on the next batch of models I'm recieving :)
