Warlord Rorke's Drift buildings

Hi,

One thing I have been trying to find out for a number of years, is did the 'hospital' at Rorke's Drift have railings on the veranda?

I have seen a photo of the re-build that have railings (from the early 20th century) but the sketches of Chard and (albeit much later) Bourne, do not show railings.

Any ideas?
