New plastic proxies for goblin wolves!
« on: February 25, 2012, 08:48:22 PM »
Hi, has anybody noticed this new release from Gamesworkshop? Some awesome new wolves and they don't look crappy and they are made of plastic!

I was wondering if they could be used as mounts for Lord of the Rings miniatures? As I really love the look of them, the price of them at Maelstrom would be around 2,50€ a piece (discount of 16% included).

Hi, Belgian.  There's already a thread discussing wargs (Tolkein's name for the big intelligent wolves ridden by goblins), which has thrown up these very minis:

Thanks for posting; as a Grump who avoids anything that has to do with G.Wish LotR, I wouldn't have notices their newly released wolves. The wolves are very nice/cool. I'll probably pick some up for future Goblin mounts or Denizens of my Spooky Woods Project. As for remounting the 120 or so Wolf Riders I have, at $5 a pop I'll pass on the improvement.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

I really like those wolves.
They could be used in so many different periods.
The price is not bad either, $24.99.

There is allso a lot of gossip going round that these wolves will be used as mounts for (probabely Forge World) Hobgoblins and (main gw) goblins... talk is the sadles will be included with the mounting models...

Difficult to tell accurately but given those are on 40mm bases, I expect they may be a little large for goblins. I could be wrong though.
So many projects..... so little time.......
