They were first mentioned in Derisive Miniture's background fluff story: "It's not just a cube...it's a marine."  Along with a painting guide and a 3-up image.  I understand the next release will be troops in corrugated armor.

Maybe with GW Space Marines,Merc Minis, and the Defiance Games Marines?

They're propainted - in stealth cammo. Take another look.....

You may be confusing us with Derivative Miniatures, who specialised in cheap recasts of Irregular Miniatures. I'm not sure why anyone thought there would be a market for recasts of Irregular Miniatures, although I suppose the notion that quality control would be made redundant was a factor.
