Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land (ipad)
« on: February 29, 2012, 11:11:40 PM »
Not really lead gaming, but has anyone tried this

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/call-cthulhu-the-wasted-land/id481609861?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4

Is it any good and are there game ideas in it?

I have it and it has some good bits in it, however when first released it was very buggy and kept on crashing, it still freezes at times but have done it all the way through 3 times now.
Made me want to get some tommies done.

It looks pretty cool!  But sadly, I've not tried it.

Mine constantly freezes. The parts I've played are good though :)

as for Cthulhu related games on the ipad i had actually much more fun with Elder Sign (although a totally different gaming concept). This actually made me buy the board game (which gave me the chance to put some cthulhu monster minis on the table...)

Elder Sign on the iPad is an excellent game which I'm slowly getting better at :)

Another thumbs up for Elder Signs here!
Necronomicon Redux is also pretty cool but couldn't get into the Wasted Lands game

Great game! A bit silly in the end when you have maximum points in rifles and run around with an elephant gun ;)
Had a lot of issues when released, but after the first update it ran smothly on my phone. Really worth the money in my opinion, and I do look forward to any additions to the story.

Have to say that I've enjoyed the game immensely, it's been patched to the point that there aren't any problems left that I've come across, though the difficulty curve can be a little vertical at times, (the 'stop the ritual' mission is a bit of a nightmare - or is that just me?). All in all, well worth the money (only £2.99 in the UK).

just found this game.  $5 is a great deal, even with a bad UI.  Whats not to like -  Cthulhu in the trenches!

Yep, I did download it as well.  Really fun, and some cool 'baddies' it .  The Cthuloids especially.

Got it and enjoy it ... although it did go through a crashing phase at one point.

I didn't quite understand the relationship between armour and action points and I've entered a level where half my guys can't actually fire. Can you drop armour? I'm not sure how.

I own it and like it. How often do you get to do WW1 Cthulhu?  It's not crashed on me once, so the bug problems must have been resolved.  I recommend it.
