Best 28mm for The Paraguayan War/Triple Alliance

Can anyone give me some ideas for gaming this in 28mm scale I sources for suitable figs from other ranges such as ACW. There is only one company who are starting to produce a few figs for this period

In 28mm only some foundry's mexicans and french from maximilian adventure range and maybe some french from franco -prussian war might be pressed into service.

I think someone from Argentina (?) has few figures but I am not sure if they are just foundry's with different name and paint or something else. I fear that I cannot find the link anymore. If I am lucky I will post it in a next post.

this is the closest I could find. Indeed they converted foundry's ones

If you aren't too fussy, you could press some of the ACW figures in sackcoat into service as Argentines, at least in the summer kit. Ideally yo would want them with havelocks or you could make your own. If you were prepared to do a bit of carving of collars and repositioning of kit you could give thema wider use. Foundry's Mexicans are as close as you will get to Paraguayans apart from someone, whose name I forget has just produced a really awful looking set of......... Paraguayans.

Have patience and you might get a dedicayed range.
