I used to have quite a few of the Hinchcliffe John Carter figures, very poor sculpts but at the time I loved them.
Th display piece from GW you are asking about, is a model I used to own, but I am having trouble recalling who it was made by, I will think on this and hopefully be able to get back to you.

Cheers Simon, I've been told it may be a Heroes miniature - GH50 The Ultimate Horror - no complete confirmation yet though.

The other day I saw some BEAUTIFUL 54mm "Atlantis" figures by Phoenix games. They had a very John-carter-ish look to them.

Unfortunately I don't really have a purpose for 54mm figs so I don't really have the motivation to pick them up. Shame I can't seem to find a single image of one painted anywhere.

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

I have the horror miniature but it's painted and based so I can't see the underside. I bought it originally second hand, possibly off Simon, and never knew the manufacturer.
I realise none of this helps, just rambling :)
