Artizan covers the period 1890-1914, the figures being most suitable for operations in the Sud-Oranais near the Moroccan border between 1899 and 1907, notably Lyautey's frontier campaign of 1904-1907. They're also perfect for the invasion of Morocco in 1907 and the subsequent French protectorate over the country, along with continued operations in Algeria all the way up to 1918.
As far as I can recall, Foundry does not have much of a Foreign legion range, just one pack sculpted by Mike Owen when he started working for them. If these are the figure you are referring to, they are later
légionnaires, more suitable for the post WW1 era and beyond :
