Obrigado  :)

It's my usual recipe for weathered timber - Vallejo khaki (70.988) mixed with a dash of black for the base drybrush coat. Then gradual successive small quantities of white added to the mix for subsequent dry brush coats. Until the topmost highlight is a very pale greenish grey indeed.
Washed with a very thinned wash of Army Painter 'Strong Tone' ink.

that's not only a good recipe, it's one I can relate to because I also like to use khakis for earth and vegetation tones.
but I must admit it never crossed my mind to use it for wood!
ingenious! this is something I'll most certainly use (let's hope I can get similar effects) :)

thanks!
Cheers,
Pedro

Lovely work, and I'll have to give that weathered wood recipe a go on some Eastern European houses I have ahead of me. Great stuff.

I've never been a huge fan of Perry minis (prefer skirmish and Perry looks-wise are suited to massed ranks) but...I am powerfully tempted, truly lovely brush work (and i see what you are all saying about khaki, bought myself a pot and its damn flexible).

Huzzah!

I ordered the Landing party figures and the Marines from Lon and they arrived yesterday!

I now have a bunch of Trent Miniature mutinous British Caribbean militia, rising slaves (under the leadership of two men possessed by Baron Samedi and Baron Kriminal no less) and a mob of French Caribbean irregulars to pitch against my lusty tars and Royal marines.

French sailors from Brigade and some Victrix early Napoleonic painted up as French Marines to order and paint up and I've got a lovely little collection.

My work isn't even close to yours but I'm having a great time painting these little blokes.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Eager to see all this splendid stuff, men and boats in action!

Thanks  :)

I’m afraid they haven’t seen a lot of action - a couple of games is all. Like most of my collection alas  :'(
