Thanks friends  ;)

Now here's the first gun crew painted (plus the ship's doctor, Dr Ishmael Spoons)...

Have to say, Newline Designs may not be fashionable, and they are a tad wooden, but with a bit of titivation they're actually very nice figures - and as you can see from the good doctor, a pretty good fit size-wise with Mr Hicks' output...

Fighting Dr Spoons makes his entrance...

They look great! Can I ask what colours you use for your skin tone and also your vibrant blue

They really do look great, what I enjoy with these posts is the way the Cap'n shares his thought process, figure choices, conversions and finally the painted minis,it's good to follow the process through to the finished item.

Good Greenstuff and good painting. The basing solution works fine with the hight too, while remaining very subtle.

Thanks all  :)

That dockor is just inspired

I'm planning to make sure I have a full Ship's company, including such luminaries as cook, sailing master, ship's carpenter, and so on. The full cast of Master and Commander in fact ;)

Just went back through and saw that you already replied about colours.

Great  :)
To summarise, the blue is Vallejo Dark Blue (not dark at all, but a very bright Royal blue). Skin is a mix of Vallejo Red Leather and Dark Flesh. In both cases, (the blue and the flesh) I've gradually mixed in increasing amounts of white for the highlight coats...

When are we going to see these in a game?

There is a rumour that he is going to let them loose on some Mexicans in the near future.

Yes, at BLAM, all being well. (If The Mexicans can find a slot for me in their busy social calendar ;))

What I enjoy with these posts is the way the Cap'n shares his thought process, figure choices, conversions and finally the painted minis,it's good to follow the process through to the finished item.

Thank you. That's what makes it worthwhile - the journey  :)
