"Niam, Niam! I like it. Any chance of a plastic set of generic Africa natives in the future?" (Looks like another poor spelling there  :D)
North Star Military Figures: "We are planning a range of plastic figures, maybe Natives could be added."

I was just talking about this the other day. It would be great to have a plastic set of generic African warriors that we could build into whatever tribe we fancied. Some naked, others with loin cloth, animal skins or hides, assorted shields, weapons and heads/headdresses.

I would agree, apart from the plastic part. Not at that keen on it. Unlike some LAF members I have no theological objection to the stuff, but after playing around with some Warlord Zulus I have decided it's not really for me.

This may sound mad and go against conventional wisdom, but I find it much more difficult to work with than metal. Cleaning up metal figures is a pain. Cleaning up plastic ones is an absolute bloody nightmare.

Yes,  but in plastic you can have thousan's of 'em, thousan's!  lol

Although I prefer metal, I find plastic easier/faster to convert but each material has its pros & cons. With a little skill and some putty you can go a long way.

Here's hoping for some Tetela or Mangbettu. I made some proxies for both groups but they're just not quite right.

Still no news or pics! They are killing me!!! I bet they are busy with Salute coming up and we won't see any until after the show! I can relate with that but I am soooooooooooooooo impatient!!!!  ;)

If any of you lads go to Salute do please have a gander at the North Star table to see if they have any of these cannibals on display.

Regarding the new North Star releases, I know Steve Saleh's 1672 figures will be moulded over the course of next week, but that won't be of much help to you of course.

I look online on an almost daily basis for news regarding these. Its also worth noting that there will be Askaris released after the Cannibals too if my info is correct.

you tease!  :D

cram;
any idea what sort of askaris mate? British, German, Belgian, Italian or generic ones? Mind you anything would be welcome (more choice is always welcome) although Foundry already has made loads of askari types available to us (British and Belgian for eg.). And Copplestone has taken care of the German ones.

No idea mate. Nick from Northstar made mention a while back that after the native porters, he would be releasing Cannibals and Askari, then ruga-ruga. He did'nt give any further details. You could send him a message asking, maybe post on the Northstar Facebook page. From my experience he has always replied to a question he has an answer for. As for Askari you can never have too many :)

As you astutely observed you can never have too many! Either of Askari, Ruga Ruga or indeed Arabs! lol

I took out the Chris Peers book last night and was checking out the various illustrations there for a clue as to what cannibals they might model. Lots of potential there!
