Tsuba Miniatures: First Russian greens for the RJW
« on: April 11, 2012, 08:45:35 AM »
Hello guys and girls,

Hope you had a nice Eastern holiday!  :)

@ mods: I'm not sure, if this is the most suitable sub-board, please feel free to move this thread, if you think another one is better fitting.

As every army needs an opponent, here are the preview photos of the first two Russian sets for the Russo-Japanese war:

RJ-R02 Russian Troopers advancing I

RJ-R03 Russian Troopers firing/loading I

As you can see, these are rather well equiped soldiers. In contrast to the Japanese the Russians used to have their bayonets fixed permanently to the rifles, therefore they also didn't carry scabbards.

Sculpted by Paul Hicks and going to be moulded and cast by Griffin Moulds. The price will be the same as for the Japanese (€ 7.50 for each set of four miniatures). No release date yet, sorry, but I'll post here as soon as I receive the castings.

Although I've been struggling at first to do the Russians at all, I'm very pleased with how these have turned out and my compliments to Paul for his great work! (I hope this doesn't sound snotty.  ;) )

There are also some more Japanese command miniatures in the same batch as the above shown Russians:

Wow, amazing!

Like Keith, I've already bought some of the blisters and was a very happy customer.

Great range of figures.
The RJW has for many years been an interest of mine.
I just did not like the minis out there.
With these figures, I may have start buying and painting.
I see on your blog that you have a copy of the Collier book.
A great book, have had it for a number of years.
