Oh my god, LEGO does it again. Seems like they have the cash to get any movie license they want, which can only be a good thing (except if you are a parent standing in the toy shop with your ten year old kid).

I wonder what movies they will eye next, Sin city would be cool :D

I suspect that has something to do with the StarWars license practically bankrupting them. It's taken years for them to recoup that one. A friend of mine works in Licensing and apparently Lucas altered their license options last year because of it.

Why is Lego Lurtz naked?
So many projects..... so little time.......

What? I thought Lego Star Wars was the bread&butter of Lego. I've totally misssed that.

Well, it probably has brought in tons of cash, but it also probably has cost them a lot of cash :) Star Wars being one of the biggest franchise in entertainment history an all...

The berserker uruk is my favourite  lol

Unlike Star Wars, I really don't think these translate too well into Lego.

I guess they got a cheap deal on the licence, or maybe they have an eye on the imminent appearance of The Hobbit, but seems like the big money making opportunity from the LOTR films was 10 years ago...

Odd.

Probably explains why the new tie fighter kit is now £50..... was £15 I think when I bought one (admittedly that was 10 years ago).
