Quick question;

I'm planning on using some of the Palm trees to create 'jungle' terrain, as opposed to the desert palms. Does anyone know a good (cheap) UK source of aquarium plants to use as vegetation etc?

Cheers

Try here:

http://www.fishandfins.co.uk/weed.htm

They used to stock a good variety or alternatively try Ebay. There are usually plenty of people selling indvidual breeding mats of different types for reasonable money.

Thanks Malamute! I shall give it a wee look.

I know I've been quite quiet over the last month or so, however I have started painting again. I've got a number of models stilling on the table just now. But I did want to share this with you;

Remember when I showed my new workbench?

Well a few months later it looks like this...

Beginning to fill up eh?

So my current projects; I'm looking to try and get this lot finished, including the two D&D prepaints that I'm looking to repaint entirely.

And currently taking pride of place on the table are these bad boys, gifted to me by Vikotnik.

I just need to decide on a colour scheme; whether to go with the old school Pink and Blue or to try something slightly different. Ideally I'd like to be able to use them as a BBEG in a WFRP scenario, and I'd also like to use them as generic demons in sword and sorcery.

Vikotnik also included his nosferatu miniature with the shipment. Ideal! I've coveted it for a while; although I think my Gothic horror project is on hold until later in the year (or at the rate I'm going, probably early next year  lol)

Cheers

First off please excuse the poor quality pictures; they where taken with my phone's camera. Also please excuse the unfinished models (not that you can actually make much out)

This evening I was testing some Conan styled rules. I really liked Matakishi's rule set, but decided I'd like to try my hand at coming up with some rules. To be fair I've been tweaking a simple little system for 'convention' gaming. Some people have remarked that it is similar to the Goal system and to .45. I don't think it is too much like either. Anyway I've stole some of Matakishi's ideas; including a pool of points which I've named stamina. Basically the stamina pool is a heroes life force slowly dwindling as the hero is damaged, but it can also be used to do all sorts of additional things; including being exchanged for extra dice to roll, activating skills etc. Basically player's will need to try and decided how to spend their points.

^The basic layout (and worst photo of the night). Basically each of the 'red' warriors are hero types and the skeletons are mooks.

^The rules and an accompanying beverage (suitable me thinks)

^The heroes, having fought their way through an army of mooks, face the last two skeletons.

I'd love to have this project polished for MacLAM. The idea being that people would arrive with their own Barbarian, and dip in and out of the game; with their character advancing through out the weekend. An Homage to Matakishi's fantastic game.

Cheers
Andy

Novel idea!

Incidentally I've had a few Barbies sitting on my desk awaiting paint for some time now.

Fun looking game. Simple board set up, but very effective.

I'd love to take a gander at your rules once you write something up.

So it's been a while.

I've been away with work the past few days (down in Northumberland). Before I left however I did manage to pick up a paint brush for the first time this year- and put some paint on a shield or two. I'm actually fairly happy with the work; I think that both the shield and the metal features came out particularly well. I'm considering using the same metal effect on the sword.

*Sighs* As usual they don't look all that great in a photo! And to top things off the base looks terrible!

Cheers
Andy
