I've completed some more work on the dungeon tiles, I'll post a picture over the next few days.
I've dug into the pile of reaper bones which have sat their unused since they arrived. Having not painted in a while, I wanted something quick and easy. I pulled out the five zombies included in the set. One of these sculpts is horrid, the other isn't too bad. Below you can see my attempts to slap some paint on the miniatures (first painted in over a year!). They need to be based. I've still to decide how to do that.
After I cleaned and and prepped the miniatures (bones mould lines are horrible to remove!). I painted straight onto the bonesium with great effect. I'm not really a fan of the green zombies, but I wanted these guys to be a bit of an homage to the old school. I am reasonably happy with home they came out, for a quick paint job. There is definitely more depth to the colours in real life.
I started with a base coat of Gretchin Green on the skin, Tausept ochre on the clothing, and charred brown on the hair. Next step was to give everything a coat of ogryn flesh. The next stage was to dry brush the skin with bubonic brown. I then highlighted the skin with a mix of desert yellow and bleached bone, and the cloth with pure bleached bone.
Sorry for the blow by blow, I have a terrible memory and need to record these things somewhere!
Kind Regards
Andy
