I will be back :D

lol Alex, what a crowd scene! You are the Cecil.B.DeMille of the wargames painting world! Fantastic technicolor entry, and an honour to compete with you, as ever  :)

Who makes the WW1 frogs Richard? They are the testicule du chien  8)

They are made by French company called Forgotten Glorious. Franck from FG very kindly sent me a set of these figures gratis almost exactly a year ago - even though I told him I'd probably never paint them. Well, he was right and I was wrong! ;)

I decided to try to show a variety of uniforms and the transition from the various French uniforms that started the Great War, as well as famous 'horizon blue' in which they ended it...

You two have been steadily uping the ante with your painting skills round by round and just seem to be getting better with each one
A really difficult choice and the match of the round
its a shame I had to choose

No one does deserve lo "lose" this round.

Both top quality entries.

Mmmm... Where's the "Draw" button?

Best wishes.

My gods, both are stunning.  :-*
I could be happy voting for either though happier to vote for both. In the end had to go with Rome. They're both excellent paint jobs, atmospheric setting, the bustling depth of the Roman setting swung it for me, but it stayed a 'tie' for a long time to find the time breaker.

I think I've looked at this matchup about eight times today, at work this afternoon and now at home. I've voted on every single other Round 8 matchup except this one.

I think I'll keep looking for a few more days. Maybe a "Both" button will materialize, like a police box...

Not fair-how can you choose between two such great scenes :o.  There really needs to be a way to give a tie vote or some such to reward to both for such fantastic work.

Thanks, Richard, the same for you :)

Who makes the Roman figures?

Foundry. The mounted one is Aventine, but also Copplestone sculpt using Foundry dollies.
