Change of username

Hey there have done a brief search of this board looking for how to change my username.  What can i say I was desperate to think of something when I joined.....now I like to revert to a username I err use more frequently.

Is this possible on the LAF?

Yes, we can change your user name. To avoid people changing it willy-nilly, leading to all sorts of confusion, the functionality is limited to admin staff only. We encourage people only to use it in case of typos or for improved privacy, but if you are really unhappy with it and have a better one, I guess it's alright, too.

Two options exist:

A ) We can change your display name. This means you still log on using the original name and password, but a different username will be displayed for all purposes, such as postings, PMs etc.

B ) We can change the actual user name, which will change both the logon and the display name, but then you will have to reactivate your account using your password (which I assume you still know) and may have to assign a new password to confirm the change.

If we change it, it is considered courteous to include a short note in your signature to let people know what your old name was, in case someone is looking for a former Bazaar partner, for example.

Let me know if you wish to have it changed either by PM or here, tell me the new name and I'll see to it.
