Late 17th century Infantry
« on: May 13, 2012, 06:20:06 PM »
I am looking to get some Late 17th century Infantry in 28mm, no war in particular.
Essex and Dixon have some on the true 28mm side, any others that go with them?
Brigade Games has some King Philips War militia that work with these.

Northstar has the old Copplestone range which along with Front Rank are more hefty.
Reiver, not My favorite, would fit in with these two but are there any more makers?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Great manufacturer, and every miniature is bought separately so you can buy those that you like and avoid "filler" or duplicates if you want.

Would Wargames Factory War of Spanish Succession work?  They're intentionally produced to be cheap rank figures, which are standard enough to be converted or used as most countries in the conflict - (1701-1714 if my memory serves?).

They have cavalry as well, and have suggested artillery might be on the way.  Either way, $16 USD for 36 multipose plastics is a pretty damn good way to start.  Includes some figures with halberds, swords, drums, mitre caps or normal etc.  Pretty good box set.  I was on the fence until I ordered some myself.
