D&D minis repainted figures

Hi,

In this topic I'll show you my attempt to paint the whole Wrath of Ashardalon box figures. It's one of the 3 boxes of "donjon and dragons adventure system" range, wich are, basically, cooperative dungeon crawling games based on D&D d20 system.

I bought 2 boxes (castle ravenloft and wrath of ashardalon) because I thought it could be a good and (quite) cheap way to obtain a good passortement of typical dungeon figures.

I painted the (around) 50 figures in 20days, during my free time (I had a full time job these days). So it's purely speed painting, with cheats and tricks (wood stain, citadel washes, drybrushes). The overall result is good enough for me.

I'm also (currently) building a 3d dungeon for this game, with my own molds and plaster casts. I'll create a dedicated topic soon.

Great stuff!
 The highlight for me might actually be to see those ironsteelsomething snakes painted up. They look great repainted. Same goes for the bear and the grell.

Excellent stuff, I love how you've made bland sculpts seem pretty attractive!

Even though they are speed painted, they still look fantastic! I'd love to know how you so it... Its on a par with the standard of my slow painting.

Love it those are speed painted ...I've been toying with the idea of getting the Drizzt game for the same reason. Now I'm really going to find it hard to resist.....

You really bring those minis to life.

As for a "speed paint job" they turned out better than a lot of minis I've "carefully" painted.

You've done a WONDERFUL job bringing The Creatures to life. They're even more impressive considering the less-than-state-of-the-art nature of the minis. VERY WELL DONE one & all!

Again, the sculpting of this figures range is not as bad as you may think. Actually, some of them are really nice, high grade sculpts. See the heroclix figures I stripped the pre-paint. The sculpting is also pretty cool.

 actually, most of these figures are not boardgame "improved tokens", but nice regular fantasy figures, from the D&D miniatures prepainted collectable range. The only difference is that they are supplied unpainted in the D&D adventure system boxes.

Wich is a great thing for us :  the sculpts are always at least "OK", and even sometimes really nice and "competitive" comparing the standards.
