Are they made of hard plastic?

EDIT: I was thinking of buying those boxes too... just to paint the figures... But I have far more ideas and projects that I have cash lol

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

No, they are not hard plastic, it's not as soft as old 1/72 figures, but not as hard as Games workshop plastic figures too. It's similar to heroclix figures, I guess.

For D&D miniatures enthusiasts, it still a good way to buy some figures, a lot cheaper than the prepaint versions wich (for some of them) are rares.

Nice work.  Very  inspiring for me as I have been afraid to paint my WOA figures for some time.  Did you pin any of the weapons to stiffen them?  The swords etc. have been the only really soft details in my experience.  Yours look good and straight.
This is my boomstick!

Some figures has been dipped in boiling water a few seconds, then dipped in iced water. It's a good way to obtain straight swords, weapons, bases, etc... But I never added any pin or whatever.

Once painted, it's sturdy enough. Just be sure to correctly wash your figs.

Vey nices paint jobs on these (wish I could paint to that standard at slow speed, let alone speed paint!). You wouldn't happen to have any of the unpainted figures to let us see them, by chance?

Plus, what did you pay for the boxed sets?
All I ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer her by...

thanks !

I paid (if I remember correctly) around 50euros/box.

Wich means (regardless you've got a complete game aside) 1euros/figure. Wich is a decent deal since you have some rare and sometimes big D&D miniatures.

I'll try to find some pics of unpainted figures. If I don't find any, I'll do some from my castle ravenloft box today.

So what method do you find is best for stripping the figures? All of the re-paints that I've done from figures like these I've simply washed and painted over the existing colors.

@leegwonfu:  These come unpainted.  They are cast from the same molds as the now defunct D&D pre-painted CCM figures.  You just need to wash them first to get rid of the residual mold release agent from the manufacturing process.
