Due to a bout of apoplexy from my good wife when she saw my post I must now point out that while it may have been my credit card that was used, they are joint credit cards and she is the one who pays it off, (by transferring money from the joint account, but lets not start a fight)  :D

I want to build a 3d board now, but I'm going to wait until the scenery pack comes out, then I can incorporate it.
So many projects..... so little time.......

The wife of a gaming acquaintance of mine recently checked the rather alarming balance on "his" credit card, which for years has been used for nothing but hobby items.

His man-cave has now been forcefully repurposed into a guest bedroom and his large collection of miniatures now resides in the damp garage with the lawnmower and old paint cans.  Reports that he now exclusively sleeps in "the naughty chair" are unconfirmed.

A cautionary tale, running completely at odds with my upcoming Sedition Wars splurge.  Kickstarter will be the end of us all, but it will be fun getting there :)

Foolish woman, that doesn't help the problem, it exascerbates it by depreciating the value. She should embrace their worth and the joy they bring.... that's never going to happen is it?

"Kick starter will be the end of us"...

For somebody about to lay down my $100 dollors i`m sweating...

If it is the end.. then we go down fighting together, side by side, paint bush in one hand and D6 in the other.....

And if we live though this... then its only 81+ figures to paint before me play in all its glory...!!!!!

And this quote brought me joy this morning
"Think of it as a cheap series of therapy sessions...."

All this talk of worrying about what our better half may think about this is absurd!

ARE WE NOT MEN?

You boys need to puff your chest out and demand your dominance!

Then come back and tell me how that worked for all you, because now I need to go finish the dishes,  get the laundry started, and somehow hide the credit card bill ::).....

Well, the $330,000 goal has just been broken!  ;D

So a quick summary of what is being offered seemed like a good idea to me, and I hope it's helpful to at least one person! ;)

Every normal set ($80) has been upgraded with:

- Plastic counters

- Alternate Vanguard Trooper sculpt

- Alternate Strain Phase 1 Sculpt

- Barker Zosa, an elite heavy weapons Vanguard character with two weapon options

- Extra downloadable campaign

In addition to the above, every Biohazard set ($100) now ships with 31 extra free miniatures:

- A resin limited edition Kara

- 12 Additional Vanguard troopers

- 12 Additional Strain Phase 1 and Phase 2

- 2 Additional Phase 3 Brimstone

- 2 Additional Phase 3 Scythe Witch

- 1 Additional AI Drone

- 1 Additional Grendlr

- 1 Additional Cthonian

- 6 Faction dice

- 1 Painting DVD in which Mike & Ali show you how to paint your BfA figs

Each Biohazard set gets the above, so if you opt for a bigger pledge that is multiple BH sets (for example "We've Got Movement!" is two BH sets), then you also get the corresponding extra number of goodies above (in in the previous example, that's sixty two extra free models, two painting DVDs, etc...).

There's also a number of optional extras that can be added to a pledge:

- Dice Pack: Six dice (three Strain, three Vanguard) + $10.00 per set

- Terrain Pack: Seventy pieces  + $30.00

- Dr Susan Ridley: Plastic fig, and also includes the infected Strain version for free + $10.00

- Tech Officer Niven Banks: Plastic fig, and also includes the infected Strain version for free + $10.00

- Sergeant Ramirez: Plastic fig, will also include the infected Strain version for free if next stretch goal is hit, which is $390K + $10.00

- Glow in the Dark Strain pack: 17 GitD plastic figs + $30.00

- Opticamo Vanguard pack: 15 clear plastic figs including the four main characters from the base game + $30.00

- Lights Out campaign pack: GitD Strain and Opticamo Vanguard packs together + $50.00

- Tile Pack: An extra set of all the tiles from the base game, including the transit cars + $25.00

_____________________________________________________

Phew! I hope I got it all, but somebody please correct me if I'm wrong. ;)

Anyway, the short of it is that for every Biohazard set ($100 + $25 shipping) you get 82 miniatures... Or to put it another way, it works out at about $1.50 per fig.

I think that's pretty good for anyone looking to split a set or two with a friend in order to build a Sci-fi force for another game, and of course you still get the rest of the BfA game too.

For anyone wondering, the plastic that will be used is the same as that used for Warmachine and Hordes models (lets hope the mould lines are better with these!), and is similar (if not the same) to the "Plastic Resin" that Mantic uses for some of their figures.
I have no idea if this will the same for the GitD or "Opticamo" models, although I suspect they will be in different plastic materials.

/// EDIT ///
Edited to include new goals and info.

I pledged Biohazard and just upped it another $20 for Ridley and Niven. I'm on the fence about the terrain set.

CMON posted on the Kickstarter comments that the base set still comes with 50 miniatures. Barker Zosa replaces one of the vanilla Vanguard guys. Kind of a minor bummer I guess.

Not a big deal to me.  There's already 12 of the laser rifle guys in the box and another 6 more in the biohazard upgrade, so I don't think we'll be missing him.

I'm just finishing decorating my new man cave extension, so at least I'll have somewhere comfy to bed down, fridge freezer in the adjoining garage, all mod cons. ;)

I looked at the game a few times, and to be honest, I may be 'cheap', but Zombicide has me in for $200.00 already and I'm just getting a little burned out on KS...

So I think I'm going to let this one pass by....
