Battle at the Jim Damn E Mine
« on: 27 May 2012, 05:09:41 PM »
Apaches have decided to raid the mine looking for supplies and ammunition.
A couple of pics of what they see.

After making their plans, the Apaches move to the corral to get the cattle.

While on the other side of the camp, other Apaches check out some buildings and setting fire to one.

Still not seeing any miners, they wonder were they are. Most are in the mine waiting to ambush them.
The miners attack, very good die rolling and a number of Indians are down.

Mean while.

A small patrol of Cav enter the table.

A miner leave the mine office to take on some Apaches

The miners make short work of the Indians
.
While on the other side of the camp, (poor shooting by by the Indians.) doomed them.

The only good spot for the Apaches was that they had set up an ambush of the Cav, riding to the mining camp.
They killed 3 of the Cav. with no lost to themselves.

The Apaches at this time figured they would take what they had won and depart the table with a lot less braves than they entered with.
In the end hot shooting by the miners doomed the Apaches.

Awesome game report Marine0846!  :-*

Could use of the Hobo Jungle set. I didn't base my and now I'm having second thoughts.
I like the rock formations and the mine with the removable roof idea.

I wish I had space for a big gaming table like that one.  :'(

@ thebinmann,
The little brown terrain is from the Battlefield Architect, great stuff.
The dark brown is stuff I made.
There are some more rocky pieces that fit on top of them.
There is also an old Geo Hex round mesa.
Also a few bunches of rocks by PMC games.
All the figures painted by me.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

Beautiful table, and I mean both the terrain and the table itself.  Nice dice walls!  Is that in a garage or is it outdoors?  I see the chairs and the car.

What rules set are you using?  Looks fantastic.  I guess I need to give in and eventually make some indians!

@ Elbows,
We usually play in a friends garage.
He has to deal with long term health care problems with his mother.
So he is able to peek in on her as we play.
That being said, he had a nice setup.
The rules are a set I made up I call Hollywood Western Rules.
Really a one page set for quick play. They seem to cover the way Hollywood films  them.
At least the way I view them.
They are great for conventions, but they need a good GM to move them along.
The nice thing about them, is we old guys don't have to use our gray matter much. lol

Did you buy the flooring like that, it kind of looks like a bed sheet that was stained with tea? Either way I love it.

@ DoctorDuckButter,
Purchased the material at JoAnns, in the felt section, it is a fabric store here in Oregon.
It comes in green too. I do think the brown and tan is a little better looking.
It's good stuff.
