Well thanks for all your kind comments!
Another day, another pic...

Aerthul and Beorga. I really like the germanic fashion, stripes everywhere! Beorga on the left has a little matt-varnish accident on his head, but I already solved it with Devla Mud. I found two interesting pics of wool dyed with genuine ancient recipes:

Gives plenty colours to chose from!
Ok I´ll continue paintin, more tomorrow.

Interesting pictures. Much more colourful that I would have thought.

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

I will paint One in a light purple shirt ;-)
When I saw the accident first I immediatly remembered the story with the 14 dwarves you once told me.

Must be an amazing sight, warriors in purple tunics and walnut dye red hair! :D

Very nice miniatures and painting. Would these mini's look well next to Foundry germans?

May be you´ll see a warrior like that pretty soon  ;)
I once took a comparism shot

It´s a Foundry Late Roman but their Germans are the same size. It´s a matter of taste I think. I won´t do it.

Your two new additions look great.  :-*

I really appreciate the post about the dyes as well. A great reference for everyone!

That is a lovely comparion shot.  I'd say, though, that the Foundry Germans are quite a bit larger than their Late Romans- the former are Copplestones, the same size as the Caaesarian range, whereas the latter are the smaller Perry's.

The shots of dyes are fantastic!

Cheers, Simon

Very nice painting. I really like your shading on the clothing. It really "pops" without the contrasts being too glaring.

The big guys, Dederic and Guthbert. For the  start I´ll use the SAGA rules. For a 4 point Warband that´s a Warlord (of course), 4 Commitati, 2 x 8 Warriors and 8 archers. Guthbert on the right is an old paint-up, but I gave him a new Base and varnished him.
