Zombie Bombs
« on: 06 June 2012, 02:15:13 AM »
I painted up some West Wind Productions Soviet Zombie Bombs...

Any ideas as to how these are supposed to detonate...?

Maybe they explode automatically when eliminated?

Depending on the rules you're using, a 3" to 5" template may be used, and any creature, living or undead caught under the explosion area will suffer damage.

That will motivate your survivors to try really hard to kill those zombie bombs as soon and as far as possible.

Hope that helps.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

In the NUTS! War Without End book (Weird War 2), Zombie bombs can be command detonated, or triggered by temperature or impact. The player has to determine how they get detonated before the game starts.
Play the game, not the players!

Perhaps they could be trained to crawl under enemy tanks/vehicles, like the WW2 Soviets did with bomb dogs.  This would be a better option for animal lovers.

There are high-tension springs in the soles of their boots, and their necks have been partially sawn through.

When the time comes to attack, a remote control signal releases the springs and propels the zombies violently into the air.  The shock knocks their heads off, leaving the detonator caps of the shells on their backs exposed as the highest point on their bodies.  The distribution of weights is such that they fall directly onto those caps, causing an explosion.

Simple, really.
Back from the dead, almost.

I like the idea of some sort of trigger mechanism - like the Soviet bomb dogs - that would make them go off when they move into contact with someone... Of course they should be unstable and have the possibility of just simply going off while shambling down the street - and even more likely if moving through bad-going (where they could snag the trigger mechanism)...

Anyway, here's a few more Soviet Zombies from West Wind Productions:

Including another Zombie Bomb... I have one more to paint.
