Hasslefree 'Ken' - First painted mini!
« on: June 06, 2012, 08:27:36 AM »
Hey all! This mini is the first paintjob by my girlfriend, Hannah. I personally have  not touched this model with brush, knife or glue, so all credit is hers. It's her first ever painted model, and she wanted me to post it up for you lot to see! She wanted to make someone who could be "friends with my team", so these two, who I am informed are "Jeremy" and "Company" shares the colours of one of my necromunda gangs. I personally think he's awesome :)

I'm sure she'd love any comments you might have!

It's her first ever painted model,

That's a pretty tremendous start.

Pretty damn good for her first go! I still have some of my first paint jobs laying about and they are not up to her talent.

Looks great! The picture is a bit out of focus though. I love the addition of the dog 8)

I can not show my first efforts, all have been destroyed and all photgraphs burnt, including the negatives( I hope). Someone once said, (when asked how to paint a miniature well) "Paint 10,000 & the 10001 one will be good". I think this young lady cheated and started not a No. 1 of 10,000 but No. 9580 !!! Well done.  :)

Same here - in fact it's better than some of the stuff I've painted recently!

That's a fine looking miniature. Whether it was her first or her one thousand and first, it is one fine looking miniature and you need to keep her interested in painting.

Thanks so much for the kind words, guys! I'm a little worried - she's basically  overtaken my painting already  lol
I'll be sure to show her the thread tonight - she's going to be so chuffed!

@Pil - Apologies for the crappy focus - that's my questionable camera skills for you! The dog is indeed pretty ace - the base model is a 15mm scale "giant wolf" from Copplestone Castings if you're interested.
