Strange Aeons in the Middle East Now with 100% more color!

Middle East X1 by oldben1, on Flickr

I wanted to make a simple Cairo map for some Egyptian themed Strange Aeons.
I wanted to try and copy the flaking plaster with bricks underneath.  I'm pretty happy with the results.

Wow nice job! It really looks the part (as if the bricks are an actual deeper layer!) Well done!

Very cool.  :-*

I'm not sure why I don't do more middle east themed Cthulhu games?

Cheers Old Ben. Figures and models look great.

Could you give us a quick run down how you make those faded photos. A ready made filter or a series of Photoshop steps?

Great looking scenery! Grab some of those guys with the Fez (think that is how it is spelled) from Artizan's pulp line...great looking stuff!

Thanks for all the encouragement.  I've become a bit of a 'Plasticville' modeler in the last few years, I wanted to try and scratch build something again.

As for the pictures I use a program called Pixelromatic available from Apple.  You simple drop existing filters on top of a photo to give it lighting or textured effects.  I often take pictures at night when the lighting is poor so the program helps the pictures look old and somewhat aged.

Hey Figouze, I need some tables for all the beautiful miniatures you've painted for me!

Fantastic stuff old ben.

Really like the look of what you've done, and it captures the feeling of cairo very well.

Cheers
Andy

I would just like to add that it was one of your earlier posts that included the Plasticville (?) barn that really made me start thinking about Strange Aeons in the first place.

That and a couple of the running threads (einarolafson, styx, Necrocannibal etc) are what caused my descent into madness!
