Cult Stone Circle
« on: 19 June 2012, 07:01:57 AM »
I have been working on my first bit of Horror/Cthulhu gaming terrain: a Cultist place of Warship in a Dolmen style, for use as a 'Place of Horror' in Strange Aeons as well as just cool table terrain.   I was going for an OSL style effect of an eldritch glow from the icon.
I think I'm almost there now and thought I would share with you - comments and suggestions welcome!

Looks great! Very atmospheric indeed. I like the way there's only one entrance into the centre of the circle.

A very good looking peice  :-*

Maybe some more blood on the periphery but leave the centre clear to show the detail (and the fact it might get cleaned off every now and then so as not to hide the symbol).

cheers

You should sprinkle some pigments on the stones bases and ground around it so both elements are more "blended" together - my 2 cents that is ;)
Really fine piece of scenery anyway!

First:

nice job... I like how it doesn't look like you just randomly glued some rocks to a beercoaster... it really looks like a cool summoning circle...

Second: I'm afraid your poor cultists won't be able to summon anything as someone put the eldersign on it...  ;D

Thanks all!  I'm pretty stoked with how it came out overall

Thanks I'll give that a try!

Real stones I assume? Picking te right ones is crucial but these are spot on!

Actually, its a prototype resin casting by my friend Glynn at Fernvale Scenics, not yet available but soon will be

Stunning work, i love how this looks. The position of everything is very natural and mot at all forced. I really like the osl and the base/vegitation is just stunning.

Excellent – a nice simple concept, very well executed. A great piece of terrain!  :)
