This isn't a thread about Zanzibars in Newport is it?

Only when I went it was big on boob tubes and low on Fez's...

Could be used as Uniformed Askari. British etc. Yes?

And Force Publique Askari he says hopefully?
"Ho, ho, ho! Well, if it isn't fat stinking billy goat Billy Boy in poison! How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap, stinking chip oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly thou!"

From the surviving uniforms of the Force Publique on display in Brussels, their askaris wore a collarless blouse, tucked into knickerbockers that reached just below the knee.  Foundry's "Belgian Askaris" are based on these.

The Copplestone Zanzibaris are wearing tunics with stand-up collars, worn over long trousers.

Thank you Allen

Well, as this in effect another variant to my Explorers i think a trip to Foundry is in order. And as i'm working out of our Nottinghan City office on Fri, it would be rude not to call in ...

Here's a link to my little group, including what I used for command. No one makes anything precisely like the plate depicting officers so I modified some Foundry and Copplestone figures.

I'm not pissed than they were re-released, even though I don't plan to acquire more. I purchased some many years ago from Copplestone and got lucky on an auction or two so I could fill out the force.

I admit to being a little angry when Foundry released figs that had been 'limited editions' but I got over that pretty fast. The concept of limited figures bother me now- if people want them, sell them dammit!

Gorgeous work - makes me tempted to try my hand at it!

Thanks for the kind words, they're pretty minor conversions really- the greenstuff work isn't the best either- that's why the pics are kind of far away :)

a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.
