Winter War BH or BG
« on: June 30, 2012, 10:43:45 PM »
I have the Brigade Games Finns and was wondering if Battle Honors figures will fit in with them.
Also does BAMs early war soviets still exist I can't find them on their site.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Ask Lon about the Finns that are still to be cast. They have never been released and I keep requesting for this to happen.

The Battle Honours will fit in, but be aware they are getting on in years.

In no particular order, Force of Arms (FOA are away for the year, however, Hall of Heroes can provide), AGN, JTFM, Company B and Warlords all have something in their arsenal for the conflict.

If you check my older threads you will find  a number of references to the Winter War.

You will find that Warlord games are in the midst of revamping their WW2 ranges so patience is required. I know that it doesn't answer the question, but perhaps an e-mail to Paul @ Warlord Games might.

Cheers,

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

Check also Baker miniatures, they are quite nice. If you will extend your scope to the Continuation war you can use stug III for the Finns and KV2 for the Russians, rather cool toys both of them ;)

Sorry, I missed this one.

Yes, they mix fine, I used the BH mortar crews, but thy are beginning to look a bit tired. There may even be some photos of them on here somewhere  :)

I'm sorry. Lon doesn't seem to want answer the question for whatever reason on the Finns which is a pity as I want to make up a Winter War force for the Bolt Action rules.

I agree, the BH Winter War Finns are looking very tired.

Cheers,

Helen

Stug IIIGs for late war action for sure! They did well with these. I wouldent mind getting a small unit together. However I belive you want stuff for the earlier war?

Other panzers: Vickers 6-ton and FT-17, also later on rebuilt BT-7 to BT-42.

The Early War Russians were done by a different sculptor and are not in the same league as either of the Finn ranges. I have BH Russians, tired but I think they are still better than the BAM ones. I have a carrier bag full of the latter, but can't face painting them yet lol

So still waiting for some good Early War Russians :)

Shame that Lon doesn't want to cast the rest - I'd certainly buy some more...

Just this week I have emailed Warlord games to see if tehy will be releasing their Finns again. This is what they said.   :)

The Finnish range will be revisited as the figures were poor (and very old) but will get a complete overhaul next year in time for the 'Other Axis Armies' book.

LIES!
The old sculpts were lovely!
Don't let them revisit them, Mr. Bresnen.
The other overhauls haven't been great.  :(
