That water fall is beautiful. Makes me want to go there.

Fantastic :o As has been said your water effect is the best I've seen. What about adding some cotton wool to simulate the foam and spray at the bottom of the waterfall though?

Dunno; I think the base of the flow looks perfect. It's not a huge amount of water over the top.

Sheet WOULD tend to split, but that's just picky.  :D

I think the water looks stonking good. It is not quite clear from your blog how you use cleeophane to achieve the river water effect. Did you just layer paint the underllaying MDF and then slapped a sheet of green cellophane atop it?

I think we may be seeing a few waterfalls in our games.
Thanks Colonel, very very neat idea.

Really nice, and I can just repeat what others have said: great water and waterfall.

A stunning piece of modelling!  :-*

Yep, as I commented on your blog, Colonel, old chap, it makes me want to picnic there.  ;)

Thanks, folks! Glad you're enjoying this stuff.

In answer to Hammers' question,  I painted the river bed in tones of black, brown and green, then laid the green cellophane over the top. It was important to get enough contrast between different tones, as the cellophane obscured everything.

Pffffftttt... I'm not impressed. I saw a six year old in kindergarten do better with a box of half-used crayons and a sheet of lime green construction paper.
</sarcasm>

Really, really good stuff. I need to get some cellophane for the next time I feel like terraforming.

Or mars-a-forming. Would work very nicely on the canals I still need to build.

Or cytheraforming. Lots of bayous on Venus, lots of swamps, ponds, lakes, rivers, seas, streams, creeks (pronounced 'cricks'), marshes, fens, tarns,  and other watery regions.

You get the drift.

From one Colonel to another that is really, really impressive.

I've aways wanted a waterfall, now do I have the nerve to give it ago? (Probably not!)
