The Battlefield rules review
« on: July 07, 2012, 09:32:10 AM »
The Battlefield is a quite different take on miniature wargaming, it is inspired by PC/console games (I would say it resembles World in Conflict, WH40k Dawn of War and Company of Heroes in the setup) and has a completely new and dare I say fresh take on the classic wargaming mentality. Now before you run off in the other direction (possibly screaming “HERESY!!”) take a moment to read the review and learn a bit more about this multiplayer (2-8 players at one time) oriented miniature wargame.

For a 50 page rulebook this game packs an impressive amount of detail in terms of rules, unit loadouts, vehicle profiles and scenario/game modes. The Battlefield will not be everyone’s cup of tea, however I think that it really adds something new and very different to the miniature wargaming community.

Sounds interesting - very similar to a game I was starting to build....but abandoned (and I'm now stuck selling hundreds of boxes of minis and vehicles on ebay!).  Sounds like a reasonably fun and easy to pick up game.

Thanks for taking the time to do the review. :) I enjoyed the read and hearing your take on the game.

Now I can't wait to hear your impressions after some multiplayer games! Looking forward to an AAR...  ;)
